Stories of a Good God

Hi, I’m Sarah. I’ve always loved a good story, and my favorites are the stories that show and remind us of how good God is. Sharing these stories with the little people in my life is such a joy, and I’m excited to share them with you and the children in your life too.

May we discover together a God who is full of goodness and love.

Nativity Story
Advent Calendars

In 2021, I set out to find a nativity advent calendar to use with my kids and couldn’t quite find what I was looking for, so I decided to create my own. And now I have the joy of sharing them with others too!

Nativity Story Advent Calendars tell the story of the events leading up to and including Jesus’s birth. All through December, you’ll add a new piece to the story board each day and share the story with your child using a day-by-day guide written to accompany this felt board.

Each character is designed and made in my home and is meant for children to hold and touch as they experience the story in their own hands. Sets include the storyboard, felt characters and pieces, and the written resource.

Nativity Story Advent Calendars are SOLD OUT for 2026. If you’d like to be notified when Nativity Story Advent Calendars go on sale for 2027, leave your email below and I’ll be in touch!

A few things that mattered to me
when creating this calendar

Slowing the story down

and focusing on the events leading up to Jesus’s birth. Even before the angels proclaim the “good news of great joy,” God’s goodness is woven into so many promises and events as the characters go about their daily lives and are drawn into the miracle of Jesus coming.

Curiosity and anticipation

Children are invited to experience the story without jumping straight to the ending, giving them the opportunity to wonder along the way. Each day will include a “wondering” - an open ended question that invites the child to connect to the story through imagination and curiosity.

Connecting to Scripture

to help to tell the story. By combining paraphrases with sections of Scripture, my hope is that children will hear the story in a way they can understand while also connecting that the Bible is the story of God.

Diverse skin tones

for characters and a baby Jesus that matches what a first century Jewish baby might have looked like.
